Civil Process Servings FAQs

  1. Do you service outside of Suffolk County?

Yes.  We service many areas outside of Suffolk County.  Please contact us with your service location so we can quote you an accurate price.

  1. How quick does service usually get completed?

We attempt to complete all service within 24 hours of receipt.  Certain service that is required in-hand may take several attempts to complete properly so these may take longer.

  1. Are all services required to be in-hand to the other party?

That depends on what type of service it is.  Certain service is required to be in-hand, but most can be left at the last and usual place of abode with an additional copy being mailed the same day.  SCCO always makes every effort to serve the party in-hand.

  1. What’s the easiest way to get the service to you?

Whatever is easiest for you.  You can fax, mail, email and submit online.

  1. How do I know that I have the correct address for the defendant(s)?

SCCO staff is properly trained on how to locate and validate a defendant’s whereabout through our many databases.  Once a defendant is served, SCCO will complete a return of service as to the location where the defendant was served.

  1. What if a defendant resides out of state?

SCCO can help you locate a Process Server, Constable or Sheriff’s Department in that city and state.
